Internet of Things rapidly expanding its horizons in terms of connectivity technology, platform, and applications. Often IoT mentioned in two types : Consumer Internet of Things (CIoT) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
Consumer IoT refers to interconnection of physical devices such as watch, smartphone wearables, smart home and many others which are connected to the internet for respective functionality. On another end, Industrial IoT refers to use of industrial applications and devices such as robotics, machines, medical devices , manufacturing , supply chain and other devices monitoring and connectivity to the internet.
With advancement in cellular communication technology , several IoT applications utilizes cellular networks for the connectivity such as 2G/3G/4G/5G. the recent best example of IoT would be connected car sometime referred as smart car, connected vehicle. This example falls in consumer IoT type, commercially provided by vehicle/automotive manufacturers to the end customers with services like infotainment, telematics, diagnostics, call, sms and many more.
